In a lot of trout fishing circles around the world you will always find the state of Montana mentioned at the top of the list. Its miles of free flowing water, abundant trout populations and insect hatches make Montana a destination for every fly fisher. Whether you are a beginner, dry fly fisherman, wader, boat fisherman or someone looking to learn we can handle all your needs and expectations. 
 

Montana Flyfishing Expeditions is composed of members of the Castafly team and a guide list that has plenty of experience not only in Montana but across the globe. Our primary guides are based out of Bozeman, MT, along with a large contingency in Craig, MT, home of The Trout Shop. You are in good hands! 

We will fish you on many rivers around the state, but some of our favorites are the Missouri, Yellowstone, Madison, Gallatin, Big Horn, Big Hole, Jefferson and a lot of “no name rivers” that we won’t mention here. 
 

As a full service outfitter, we'll take care of everything concerning your trip from lodging, equipment, and guiding to knowing which local, roadside, Montana bar will have your favorite cocktail on the way back from the river. At Montana Flyfishing Expeditions we strive to offer a very professional product, but at the same time we want you to enjoy your experience with us as much as possible. We pride ourselves in being extremely flexible so we can make sure you get what you want out of your trip whether it is just a single day float trip or a summer of fishing with us. Give us a try, you won’t regret it!

 

The Fishing
 

Each of our trips is customized depending on the time of year, river conditions and length of trip so we can take you to where the fishing is best at the time of your visit.   Throughout our rivers,  there are healthy populations of cutthroat, rainbow and brown trout. We have freestones, creeks, tail waters and spring creeks in our arsenal of fisheries. We will show you the best of the best. 

Being flexible is the key. Our guides have experience in every situation, but like every fishing destination some are better at some times than others, so we will be sure to have you matched up with the correct guide for the fisheries you wish to pursue. All of our guides have a minimum of 6 years of experience with some up to 20 so you will be guaranteed to be on the water with someone that knows what they are doing. Let us show you everything we have to offer here in Montana either one day at a time or many days over the years.
